Customized Interface Grows Business for ACI Merchant Systems

“Abacus resolved a tremendous challenge we were having with our sponsor financial institution,” said Michael Collester, CEO of ACI Merchant Systems. “Despite offering a competitive cost structure, the bank was using an older mainframe system that had no third party interface available to it. Not only was the system insufficient for our goals and requirements, but we were also forced into managing two parallel databases. It was time consuming and expensive.”

The software solution designed by Abacus IT allowed ACI to map all of its data to the banks and easily move it back and forth between the two organizations. This new intranet-based system provides ACI with better functionality and even greater efficiency.

“My staff can now use this interface as their database of record for customer support,” Collester said. “It allows them to maintain customer data on both platforms in real time, key in notes about conversations they have with merchants, and makes that information viewable by our financial institution partners. We can even use it to create our customized monthly reports for each institution.”

“What started as a small project to allow ACI to interface with our sponsor financial institution partner turned out to be the entire operating system of our organization,” Collester added. “Sometimes it’s the piece you didn’t know you needed that turns out to be the biggest benefit.”
